ITF Construction will Be Accelerated

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed construction of intermediate treatment facility (ITF) must be accelerated. By so, the city administration does not need to add dump truck.

If there are five ITFs, every of them can handle 1,500 tons of garbage, thus additional dump truck is not important. Considering the distance is close

"If there are five ITFs, every of them can handle 1,500 tons of garbage, thus additional dump truck is not important. Considering the distance is close," he expressed, during supervision of 2017 SKPD working plan, Wednesday (5/18).

ITF will Be Built in Kramat Jati Market

According to him, such construction can be accelerated using City Budget (APBD) or through private side. Despite it is more expensive, the cost incurred will save the cost of transporting waste in the future.

"If it can, Bantargebang Landfill is only used as a backup. Thus ITF construction can be decided," he uttered.

On the other hand, Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Dept, Isnawa Adji stated, ITF construction in Sunter will be accelerated. Moreover, a number of private sides are interested and have given presentation.

"We're still waiting for a technical derivative appointment. Even there is private side ready to do a groundbreaking before October. The construction will take at least 18 months," he finished.
